Applying for A1 certificates in Malta is done via post sent to the Malta social security agency.

Processing times are usually around 1 day, though it may take longer depending on the case. The key challenge is that WorkFlex must attain several documents from the employer.

βœ… What you need to do

1. Sign a Power of Attorney (POA) and an employer questionnaire

  • We will provide you with a POA template. Please sign and return it to us.

  • We will provide you with the employer questionnaire. Please fill it and sign it, then return it to us.

⚠️ Key points to bear in mind

  • A POA is always required.

  • Additional information may be requested in order to fill the application form.

  • The employer receives the A1 certificate. Upon recipient, the certificate should be sent directly to the email social.security@getworkflex.

  • Too early for full assessment as WorkFlex didn’t receive much application.

πŸ‘‰ Once these steps are complete, WorkFlex will handle the A1 application process fully on your behalf.
