About Model Context Protocol (MCP)
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that allows supported AI assistants to connect to business applications such as WorkFlex.
After you connect WorkFlex MCP, your assistant can access WorkFlex information and perform supported actions on your behalf. Your existing WorkFlex permissions continue to apply.
For example, your assistant may be able to:
view business trips, workations and assignments
view compliance summaries and information contained in documents
check workation day balances
submit or update requests
reschedule or cancel requests
approve or reject approval steps
create reports based on WorkFlex data
For actions that change information in WorkFlex, you can review the planned action before it is submitted.
What you need
Before connecting WorkFlex MCP, you need:
an active WorkFlex account
an account with a supported AI assistant
permission to add custom connectors or MCP servers in your AI assistant
the WorkFlex MCP server URL:
Depending on your organisation's AI assistant plan and settings, an administrator may need to allow or add custom connectors first.
Permissions
WorkFlex MCP follows your existing WorkFlex role and permissions. Connecting an AI assistant does not give you additional access.
Depending on your role:
Employees can access and manage their own requests.
Managers can access relevant requests for their team and approve or reject approval steps assigned to them.
Assistants can manage requests for the employees they support.
HR users can access and manage employees and requests within their assigned scope.
Supported AI assistants
WorkFlex MCP can be connected to supported MCP-compatible tools, including:

Some information may need to be completed directly in WorkFlex. This can include sensitive information or file uploads that are not supported through the MCP connection.
Available actions depend on your WorkFlex role and permissions.
