To be fully compliant during remote work from abroad and business trips, some documents must be issued before the trip starts. Social security certificates and local registrations are key for any trip. These documents confirm that employees remain covered by social insurance in their home country, which can prevent the need for foreign social security contributions.

Overview of A1 and CoC Certificates

For business travelers or remote workers operating abroad, A1 and Certificate of Coverage (CoC) certificates are essential documents. These certificates confirm that the employee remains covered by social insurance in their home country, which is crucial for ensuring compliance and preventing the need for foreign social security contributions. A1 certificates, in particular, are required for any stay outside the employee's primary employment country. The type of A1 certificate depends on the trip's nature and duration.

To allow the WorkFlex team to apply for A1s, Certificates of Coverage and Posted Worker registrations on behalf of your organisation in the following countries Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Malta, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, Portugal, Norway, Romania and Iceland, please sign the Power of Attorney document provided below and upload it here. Without the POA, WorkFlex cannot represent your company effectively or finalize applications, as some fields will remain incomplete. This could cause delays in obtaining the certificates.

How to Apply for A1 Certificates on WorkFlex

The application process for an A1 certificate starts once you submit your travel plans and place the A1 request on the WorkFlex platform. This initial step triggers the preparation of the necessary documents for submission to the relevant authorities.

For Other European countries (UK, Poland, Germany and the Netherlands), further actions may be undertaken. Please check their pages accordingly. Accurate submissions of travel plans and compliance with POA requirements ensure smoother processing and faster approvals.

If WorkFlex is only to do the PWD notifications

Should you only want WorkFlex to do the necessary PWD notifications please take this template. The step with the SV Meldeportal is not necessary herefore:
