Applying for A1 certificates in the Netherlands is done through the Sociale Verzekeringsbank (SVB) system, which requires access via eHerkenning (the Dutch digital login for organizations).

Processing times can take up to 8 weeks, so it’s important to have everything set up as early as possible. The main challenge is that WorkFlex can only submit applications once your entity has an eHerkenning account and has granted us authorization through your supplier.

✅ What you need to do

  1. Sign a Power of Attorney (POA)

    • We will provide you with a template. Please sign and return it to us.

  2. Set up eHerkenning

    • Your entity must create an eHerkenning account (if not already in place).

  3. Share your supplier’s name

    • Let us know which eHerkenning supplier your entity is using.

  4. Request an authorization chain for WorkFlex

    • Through your supplier’s platform, request an authorization chain for WorkFlex.

    • This authorization gives us access to request A1 certificates on your behalf.

    • During onboarding, we will provide a step-by-step guide to help you with granting us the chain of authorization.

⚠️ Key points to bear in mind

  • A POA is always required.

  • Without an eHerkenning account and the authorization chain, WorkFlex cannot apply for A1s.

  • Processing can take up to 8 weeks, so we recommend setting up authorization early.

👉 Once these steps are complete, WorkFlex will handle the A1 application process fully on your behalf.
