Applying for A1 certificates in Estonia is done via Post sent to the Estonian social security agency.

Processing times are usually around 30 days, though it may take longer depending on the case. The key challenge is that WorkFlex must first be authorized to apply and attain additional information about the employer.

βœ… What you need to do

1. Sign a Power of Attorney (POA)

  • We will provide you with a template. Please sign and return it to us.

2. Have the employee sign a POA

  • WorkFlex will request a POA from the employee once they submit a request originating from Sweden.

  • Once the POA is requested, the employee should upload it to the document center.

⚠️ Key points to bear in mind

  • A POA is always required.

  • Additional information such as company turnover in Estonia and abroad is required.

  • The general rule is that the employee is the one that receives the A1 certificate. However, through our communication with the authorities, we understand that it is possible that the authorities may send the certificates directly to WorkFlex. Therefore, there should not be any issues in this regard.

  • In case the authorities proceed with sending the A1 certificate to the employee, the employee can send the certificate directly to the email social.security@getworkflex and CC his/her HR.

  • Too early for full assessment as WorkFlex didn’t receive much application.

πŸ‘‰ Once these steps are complete, WorkFlex will handle the A1 application process fully on your behalf.
