In Uruguay, the Banco de Previsión Social (BPS) issues A1 certificates confirming posted employees remain under their home country’s social security.
Processing usually varies, officially it should be 7–10 business days, with the main challenge being that POAs executed abroad must be notarized and apostilled.

Sign a Power of Attorney (POA)

Submit application through WorkFlex
After receiving the POA, WorkFlex submits the request to BPS.
⚠️ Key points to bear in mind
POA must explicitly grant authority to request A1/CoC certificates.
Only BPS can issue the certificate.
Processing usually takes 7–10 business days.
