🇩🇪 Authorizing WorkFlex for A1/CoC Applications in Germany

Written by Cara Benecke

This article is only relevant when the country in which the employee pays their social security contributions (home country/payroll country) is Germany.

Applying for A1/CoC Applications certificates in Germany is done through the SV Meldeportal (the social security portal).

Processing times are usually around 5 working days, though it may take longer depending on the case. The key challenge is that WorkFlex must first be authorized in the SV Meldeportal before we can submit applications.

✅ What you need to do

1. Sign a Power of Attorney (POA)
We will provide you with a POA template. Please sign it and return it to us.

2. Mandate WorkFlex on the SV Meldeportal
WorkFlex will request a mandate for your entity in the SV Meldeportal.

Your company will then receive a confirmation code by post (usually within 2 weeks).

3. Share the confirmation code with WorkFlex
Once you send us the code, we can activate the mandate and submit A1 applications on your behalf.

⚠️ Key points to bear in mind

  • A POA is always required.

  • Without the confirmation code from SV Meldeportal, WorkFlex cannot be authorized to apply.

  • Please ensure you forward the code as soon as it arrives to avoid delays.

👉 Once these steps are complete, WorkFlex will handle the A1/CoC application process fully on your behalf.
