If your technical equipment (laptop, monitor, and so on) is defective or has been stolen, you should contact your HR department immediately.

Here are the reasons and measures to back this up:

Security and compliance

The HR department is responsible for security and compliance within the company. Therefore, it is important that any defect or theft of technical equipment is reported immediately in order to initiate the necessary steps to ensure safety and compliance

Documentation and handling

The HR department can assist you in properly documenting the incident and initiating the necessary handling procedures. This may include gathering information about the affected device, notifying insurance companies and initiating replacement procedures.

Compensation and repair

In the event of a defect, the HR department can assist you in making a claim for damages. In addition, they can take the necessary steps to coordinate the repair or replacement of the defective equipment.

Please be aware that your company may refuse to send technical equipment to your country of workation. You may have to make sure yourself that you are able to work again as quickly as possible and therefore make advance payments. It is best to discuss this with your HR contact before starting your workation.

The reimbursement/replacement process is clearly defined for business trips. Please contact your HR department for this as well.

By contacting the HR department, you ensure that all necessary legal and operational aspects are adequately considered and that the incident is appropriately documented and processed.
