To be fully compliant during remote work from abroad and business trips, some documents must be issued before the trip starts. Social security certificates and local registrations are key for any trip. To allow the WorkFlex team to apply for A1s, Certificates of Coverage and Posted Worker registrations on behalf of your organisation in United Kingdom the following steps must be undertaken:

1. Sign and submit the Power of Attorney (PoA) document

To authorize WorkFlex to act on your behalf when dealing with UK authorities, you must first sign a Power of Attorney (PoA) document.

  • Sign the document: Ensure that an authorized representative from your organization signs the document.

  • Submit the document: Send the signed PoA to your dedicated Customer Success Manager.

2. Fill out and submit form CA3821 to HMRC

To apply for an A1 Certificate from UK, we must have a confirmation from the HMRC portal that your company's business is eligible to apply for such certificates. So you need to complete this form.

  • Complete the CA3821 form: Fill out the form electronically or by hand.

  • Submit the form to HMRC: You can submit the completed form electronically or via post to HMRC.

    • Electronic submission: Follow the instructions provided by HMRC for electronic submission.

    • Postal submission: Send the form to the relevant HMRC address provided on the form.

3. Receive and share your eligibility confirmation

After HMRC processes your CA3821 form, they will send you an eligibility confirmation letter containing a reference number.

  • Receive the eligibility confirmation letter: This letter confirms your eligibility for an A1 certificate and includes a reference number.

  • Share the reference number: Send the reference number to your Customer Success Manager

4. Complete and sign the required documents

To finalize the application process, you need to fill out and sign the following documents:

  • Form_64-8 1.pdf: This form allows WorkFlex to deal directly with HMRC on your behalf regarding UK social security certificates. You only need to fill out your company's detailsโ€”no need to tick any boxes on the form.

  • Coverletter form 64-8.docx: please find the template below the article

  • Power of Attorney.docx(PoA): This document authorizes WorkFlex to act on your behalf for A1 and Certificate of Coverage purposes.

  • Send the signed documents to HMRC via post: Once signed, these documents must be sent to HMRC.

5. Notify WorkFlex and share copies of signed documents

After completing the above steps, please inform your Customer Success Manager and share copies of the signed documents.
