This article is only relevant when the country in which the employee pays their social security contributions (home country/payroll country) is Latvia.
Applying for A1 certificates in Latvia is done via paper form submission to the Latvian social security institution.
Processing can take around 4–6 weeks, so it’s important to prepare everything in advance. The main challenge is that WorkFlex can only submit applications once your company provides a Power of Attorney (POA) and the necessary employer details.
✅ What you need to do
1. Sign a Power of Attorney (POA)
We will provide you with a template. Please sign it and return it to us.
2. Provide employer details
Complete and share the required employer information, including headcount and other relevant company details.
3. Submit the application via WorkFlex
Once the POA and employer details are received, WorkFlex will complete and submit the paper form to the Latvian social security institution on your behalf.
