Applying for A1 certificates in Sweden is done by post to the Swedish social security agency (Fรถrsรคkringskassan).

Processing times are typically 1โ€“3 months or more, depending on the case. The main challenge is that WorkFlex must be authorized by both the employer and the employee before submitting the application.

โœ… What you need to do

1. Sign a Power of Attorney (POA)
We will provide you with a template. Please sign it and return it to us.

2. Have the employee sign a POA
WorkFlex will request a POA from the employee once they submit a request originating from Sweden.
Once the POA is requested, the employee should upload it to the WorkFlex document center.

โš ๏ธ Key points to keep in mind

  • A POA is always required.

  • Additional information, such as the number of employees, is required.

  • Generally, the employee receives the A1 certificate. However, based on our communication with the authorities, it is also possible that the certificates are sent directly to WorkFlex, so there should be no issues.

  • If the authorities send the A1 certificate directly to the employee, they can forward it to [email protected] and CC their HR contact.

๐Ÿงฉ Application blocker:
The employee can only be posted once every two months.
For example, if their first posting ended on September 20, the next one can only start from November 20.
This rule does not apply to multi-state A1 certificates.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Once these steps are complete, WorkFlex will fully handle the A1 application process on your behalf.
