This article is only relevant when the country in which the employee pays their social security contributions (home country/payroll country) is Hungary.
Applying for A1 certificates in Hungary is done via post sent to the Hungarian department of health insurance or family support and social security, depends on the county the client is located in.
Processing time can take up to 6 months, the key challenge is that follow up on applications is only possible through post.
✅ What you need to do
Sign a Power of Attorney (POA)
We will provide you with a POA template. Please sign and return it to us.
We may request additional information directly from the employee
The employee should respond with the additional information once they receive our emails, otherwise we will not be able to process the application
⚠️ Key points to bear in mind
A POA is always required.
The employer receives the A1 certificate, we only apply, and cannot follow up on the status of the application. Upon clients’ recipient of the certificate, the certificate should be sent directly to the email [email protected] too early for full assessment as WorkFlex didn’t receive much application.
Application blockers
WorkFlex will not apply for employees who have been employed by the client for less than 30 days unless the client specifically requests us to do so.
WorkFlex will not apply for third country nationals employees unless the client specifically requests us to do so.
